Kaido no Yume IV

Kohath woke to find himself covered in tigers. Nyaiya lay leaning against him, Maro behind him with one broad arm over his shoulder, and even the kits had come back and lay between him and Maro, all curled up together.

He wasn't physically uncomfortable, but he didn't feel right at all about it. He tried to extricate himself from the furpile, but the tigers were heavy and not easy to shift. He thwacked Maro with his tail.

"Hey, let me up!"

The big tiger didn't wake up, but moved his paw aside enough that he could wriggle out.

He walked to the west end of the clearing and watched the sun come up over the trees, and suddenly realized he was feeling a lot better. The soft lazy colors of the sunrise sent a warmth unexpected at such an early hour. He laid himself down curled up in the sunlight and promptly fell asleep again.
